After dominating the home furnishings game, IKEA has announced that it’s releasing its own collection of merch, and we guarantee these are gonna sell like hotcakes.
The EFTERTRÄDA Collection marks a “close partnership” between the IKEA of Sweden and Japan, with the collection being “both inspired and made for” the people of Tokyo. However, the Swedes won in terms of the name, with the name “EFTERTRÄDA” meaning “successor” in Swedish. The bold name is intended to signal the brand’s aim to make waves with the project and replicate their successes in furniture in the merch world.
The collection features a t-shirt, hoodie, umbrella, bath towel, water bottle, and a tote bag, with more to be announced. The collection will start on July 31 and will run through August 6, with the collection being available exclusively through Harajuku (the collection should later be available globally).
